So if you are like me, you love decor, designer brands and pretty bouquets of flowers. It is sometimes hard to know how to put flowers together when you don’t have botanic design experience (I have very little) but I created a quick beginner DIY directions. This is a perfect (and quick) project to spice up your office or bedroom space!
I purchased my leaves and flowers from Hobby Lobby and they were 50% off! If you don’t have a Hobby Lobby near you, try Michael’s. At either of those locations, you can usually find coupon’s online for a decent amount off of individual items or entire purchase. I wanted to do something a bit more tropical styled and minimal color but it is completely up to you.
You will want to make sure you have floral wire cutters (which can be purchased at Hobby Lobby or Michael’s), string (to tie the bouquet) and your designer shopping bag of choice. I was between a Gucci bag and a Tom Ford bag. Because the Tom Ford bag was bigger, I had a glass vase for the flowers to sit in. You will also want news paper or tissue paper to crumble up and put in the bag, to help the flowers stand up straight and secure.
The more you have the better! You want to fill any possible open space so do not skimp on green plants and leaves. Arrange the flowers however you would like by trying to layer them on top of each other. Because the flowers/plants are typically plastic, you should be able to bend them to sit how you would like. Use the wire cutters to shorten the stems. If the cutters don’t completely cut through the wire, use them to weaken a spot in the stems and wires and bend it. Since it will be in a bag, it won’t matter if it doesn’t look perfect at the bottom. Once you have the plants/flowers placed and cut, use a string to tie them tightly in your planned position. Put them in your bag (trimming and moving them around accordingly) and stuff the open spots with paper to hold them still. And there you have it!
