Benefits of Spa Water
Adding Lemon to your water helps with digestion, flushes out toxins and cleanses the liver. Lemons contain a lot of vitamin C so they also boost your immune system. Drinking lemon water every morning helps balance the pH in your body. Lemon water is used to fight many internal issues in the body due to its antibacterial properties.
Drinking Lime water rejuvenates the skin, to promote healthier, younger looking skin. Limes also contain vitamin C and antioxidants like Lemons, so you are essentially boosting your immune system even more. Citric acids can boost your metabolism, helping you burn more calories and store less fat. Limes have a low glycemic index and help regulate how your body absorbs sugar into the bloodstream. As a result, you will experience fewer blood sugar spikes. Limes are also a good source of magnesium and potassium, which promote heart health. Lemons and Limes both reduce inflammation which is our goal in life anyways!
Mint plants contain an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent called rosmarinic acid. Because of this, mint been studied for its effectiveness in relieving seasonal allergy symptoms. Mint also contains menthol, a natural aromatic decongestant, which may help you with a common cold. Mint is known to be a calming and soothing herb, which also aids with an upset stomach or indigestion. It is a natural anti-microbial agent and breath freshener.
Ginger is known to help quell nausea (great for hangovers). Home remedies also claim that it helps relieve period pain and cramps during that time of the month. Ginger also helps improve blood sugar balance and aids in weight loss.
Once you cut up all of your ingredients, add them to a large beverage dispenser; I got mine from target for $13 and it looks so cute in my fridge. I also added a charcoal stick to purify the water so I could just keep refilling it with tap water. You should change your fresh ingredients every week or so. Having Spa Water on tap makes it so easy to have a cup or two of this a day and reap the benefits!
